Remember 20% Percent time?

Enlightened companies since the 90s (as far as I know) gave some of their employees one day a week to work on side projects. Their motivation was to incubate new ideas that they legally owned while flexing the minds of their employees and keeping twitchy developers in post.

It’s how GMail and Google Maps were born and it was certainly Google that made 20% time known to a wider audience.

I’ve got another feeling about all my AI coding. I’m losing the muscle memory.

Ditch Claude Code? Nah. Maybe I just need some 20% time. How about “No AI Fridays”?
